Tomorrow training begins at 6:30pm at the park on Murray Hill.  Attendance at training is vital for team selection so come down and make you presence felt.  This week game is against Parc O and there are rumours that game will be played at Westmount park at 1 pm.

Also, we are starting to prepare for New York 7′s this is a great weekend in the last weekend of November! John Moody will be organising the event, sp speak with him if you are interested.

This is an important attacking drill about running lines and hitting the space in between defenders.  Check out this great drill

This week we have Tuesday training and Thursday training but this week will be a little bit different as we are playing the Wanderers at their home ground on Wednesday night.  It has been a few seasons in which the Ravens have played the Wanderers and usually these games are very firey which all the players involved love.  So keep your eyes open for the location of the game and the Ravens will bring home a third straight victory!!!

Summer training has been back at King George Park for the last weeks.  Training on Tuesday starts at six.  Attendance has been great and remember to be selected in the starting line up you must attend all training sessions.

Please give your availability for this week by using the Google groups.  This week is a bye week for Westmount but keep your eyes posted to this website as we could possibly have a make up game.

See you all at training.

This week is the start of summer training and we move back to our training grounds at Murray Hill. Training is to start at 6:30pm but be there for 6pm so we can run through Saturday’s game. Please bring along boots and mouth guards and your determination.

Please note that training is compulsory if you are to be selected for Saturday’s game.

Training is Tuesday and Thursday.

The first game of the Westmount Raven’s season is only 5 days away and training is compulsory for selection for the first game of the season.  This will be the last week that training will be at the reservoir which is on the corner of Dr Penfield and Pins.

Congratulations to Stu for a great game on the weekend, there were a number of great runs, half the length of the field try and a reverse super man into the fence.  Though the Ravens went down a number of rookies got a full game under their belt, including Frankie with six hit ups!

Don’t forget that mini rugby is starting in starting in May.

Tomorrow we have a combined training session at the reservoir with TMR. Be at the training field tomorrow at 6pm we will warm up tomorrow for 30mins and then it will be contact training for another hour so please bring your boots and mouth guards.

Congratulations to everyone that turned on Saturday for the intra club match.  Westmount new Jersey won the game and Julian was man of the match.  Well done Julian!

Special thanks go to TMR for the combined training session.

I have to say I am loving the rugby WA drills.  This drill goes through some of the skills we practice on Thursday.

For those who are interested in brushing up in there defensive skills.  You should check out a greatt article written by the IRB.  It out lines 12 steps to solid defending.

To read the article head to IRB now!

Due to the rain , we are to move our normally scheduled practice to the Greene Centre on Greene ave, below Dorchester Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. Instead of a practice we’ll have a team meeting to view highlites of top caliber games, discuss laws, strategies and tactics in order to give a basic overview of our game.  Please encourage everybody to attend.  Please bring along any DVDs of top caliber games you may have .

At this stage Saturday’s training session is on at our usual field.

Henry is a Westmount Old Boy and brings a wealth of rugby experience to the club. He is a seasoned player, coach, referee and administrator.  Henry was a member of the Outremont High School rugby team who were Montreal Champions in 1964 & ’65. Rugby à Montreal commence! Rugby’s starting in Montreal … Westmount Rugby begins it’s campaign to dominate the 2nd division. New coach, new attitude. Here are some things that will happen this year:

1. Mike Hogan will stop limping around like a gimp, and turn back into the hulking presence that scares little girls (see: photo of mike)
2. Mike Trivino will a) come to training, b) come to games, c) mountain climb with subtlety and skill
3. Mathieu Boivin va jouer comme Mathieu Boivin
4. Ninja @ 10 ?
5. Peter Oland, 2 words: mean machine
6. Manu: le force de cremazie sera intournable
7. Guillaume Rieucau: president hors terrain; feroce sur le terrain
8. Charles will crawl out of the shameful rock he hid under after the wetting of Jack’s head, and turn up at training.
9. Timtastic => Timposing
10. Gilles Laporte: MVP

My predictions anyway.

More to come. Et PUIS! N’oublie pas, entrainement avec Andrew “The Coach of” Love commence cette semaine:
