Training will now start at 6.30pm. Due to Forbes field and Murray Hill being unavailable tonights training will be at the Westmount High School at 6.30pm.

The field can be found at 4350 Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest. You can enter through Hillside Lane and there is parking behind the school right next to the field. The nearest Metro is Atwater.

Reminder to bring along your completed registration form and payment for this seasons fees.  If you are registering for the first time you will need to supply one passport size photo of yourself with your application.  If you want to take a great photo speak to Ben Spencer and he can show some pose.

Great Rugby hits:  Keep in mind this is rugby league and they can pull out the shoulder charge

Training is back at Westmount High. It should be a good training session in about 27 degrees heat! Coming up this Thursday is the old boys drinks at McKibbon’s Pub, 1426 Bishop St. So keep your night free for a good get together.

Rugby News

Who would of thought that the Qld Reds beat Auckland Blues in Auckland on the weekend! 

Late news but last week the British and Irish Lions squad was announced on April 23rd.  The 37 man squad is predominately made but up of Welsh and Irish players and the squad only contains two Scotish players!

Training will be at 6pm on Wednesday night at Westmount high school. Thanks to all those that turned up to last night’s training session.

Training is back at Forbes field behind Molson Stadium on McGill campus. Last Wednesday’s session was great for fitness and thanks for a great turn out. See you all there tonight!

Reading today on the BBC there are reports that English World Cup Hero Johnny Wilkinson is turning French. Well, not that French but French enough to want to play for Rugby Union side Toulon. The Toulon club is famous in recent times in signing some of the big sporting names like George Gregan, Sonny Bill Williams, Jerry Collins and Tana Umaga.

Details of the signing are expected shortly. Allez les Bleus!

For those interested in seeing this display please get in contact with Tommy or Hogan. Otherwise, meet at Metro Guy/Concordia on the cormer of Guy and De Maissoneuve at 6:30pm. If you are intersted in going to the BarB-Barn before hand, please let me know so I can make a reservation for 5pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Boxing training is on tomorrow (Saturday). Its starts off around 2:00pm at the HardKnox gym. Training will consist of some fitness and some weights at the end. Bring running shoes, a towel, $10 cash, and hand wraps and gloves if you have them (if not the gym will supply them).

Come this Saturday for the first social event for the club!  Tom and his car will be on display as he will enter in the demolition derby!  If the destruction of Tommy’s car is not enough for you there is:

MONSTER TRUCKS WITH THEIR MASSIVELY OVERSIZED TIRES

They are huge 4x4s that destroy everything in their way; 10,000 pounds, 12 feet high, 12 feet wide, with motor getting close to 2,000 horse power. The drivers will compete in the (long) jump competition as well as in freestyle competition with a special track where cars, vans and buses are ready to be destroyed.

12 MONSTER TRUCKS:
The biggest American names will be there, amongst them the world champion BOUNTY HUNTER and the 2008 Monster Spectacular champion BLACK STALLION.

Other monster truck confirmations include: Excaliber, Amsoil Shock Therapy, Spike, Wrecking Crew, Avenger, Brutus, Screaming Demon, Iron Outlaw amongst others!

SNOWMOBILE FREESTYLE:
The best freestyle riders will be at the Big O to compete in a back-flip competition along with other death-defying stunts.

DEVIL DEMOLITION:
The world stunt car champion, Scott Turkiewicz, will offer a thrilling and spectacular presentation!

GLADIATORS DEMO DERBY:
Fans will also be able to enjoy a new brand of demolishing derbies. A no mercy confrontation on a track enclosed with a concrete wall. There will 40 cars racing over 10 laps.

MOTOS SPORTS STUNTS:
Professional Street Bike Riders will perform death defying stunts such as ‘’wheelies’’ and ‘’donuts’’ without using their hands as well as several other stunts!

Jeremy’s PIT PARTY:
Please note that doors will open at 5pm so that fans can meet their favorite drivers next to their Monster Trucks. Vehicles and drivers from all the categories will be present. There will also be a photo and autograph session.

It’s been a while since Westmount Rugby Club Old Boys had had a few drinks together, along with current players.  We’d like to get as many players from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s as we can, please spread the word.

This Wednesday night training is on at 7pm  at Forbes field.  

Bring: Suitable foot wear for a cross country run and some drills on the fake turf field. Don’t forget the training balls and water.

Afterwards we will head to the Peel Pub for a cheap feed and a couple of quiet powerades for Hogan.

Tonight we kick off the 2009 season training at 6pm at Forbes field. The field is in the McGill campus up behind Molson Stadium. Parking is limited so get there early.  

Bring suitable foot wear for a cross country run and some drills on the fake turf field.
